Five Ways to Start Your Week Right

This post is sponsored by General Mills, all content and opinions expressed here are my own.

Monday again. It comes every week but for me this Monday is tougher than most. After finishing up spring break it is nearly impossible to get back to the school and work grind. Add to that an unexpectedly busy spring break without a moment to relax and I am already feeling worn out. However, it doesn't have to be just another Monday if we focus on making this our best week yet!
Here are my top five tips to start your week out right!

1. Seek Inspiration

I am one of those people that needs a lot of motivation just to get out of bed. I have began to counteract this by seeking motivation first thing in the morning and reflecting on that before I even think of moving. This helps me focus my energy and become encouraged to get up.

2. Eat a Great Breakfast

It is hard for me to lecture on this because so often I will grab something on the go or sprint out the door before I eat breakfast. This week I am focusing on sitting down and enjoying my breakfast. I will take the time to eat cereal and drink some juice to properly fuel me for the day!

3. Go to Bed Early

If you begin to feel tired around 9pm this week, don't hold out for your typical bedtime. Our bodies need rest and if yours is telling you to sleep then listen to it.

4. Write Down Your Goals

If  you do not set goals for yourself this week, what will you accomplish? Write them down where you can see them multiple times throughout the day to assure yourself that you will see them through.

5. Reward Yourself

Remember that you are not perfect, you will make mistakes, you will watch one too many episodes of Scandal. Even with failure, it is essential to reward yourself for the things you do accomplish. Do not be too hard on yourself. Eat a cookie or get a pedicure, just do something for yourself this week.

March Madness??

*This post is sponsored by Her Campus and Garnier. All opinions expressed are my own!

So, if you are unaware there is currently something called March Madness going own. Until I went to Mercer, I really had no clue what this was but when I found myself attending the college that upset Duke I sort of go into the spirit... then I transferred.

Basketball has never been one of those sports that I am super into. (football on the other hand is) Because my college is not involved in the March Madness tournament, I haven't found much reason to get into the sport.

I did suck it up though, and fill out a bracket as a part of the RUF basketball challenge but chose my picks pretty much by random. Villanova is my top pick, so I hope they don't let me down.

Though basketball is not my sport, I look forward to watching the games with friends and supporting my chosen teams! When I go to friends houses for games, I like to look cute but not be over the top dressed up. Typically I will wear a simple pair of skinny jeans and a blouse in my school's colors. Since I am supporting Villanova I am rocking blue and white. (which are also two of my school's colors)

This year I decided to take my support a step farther in a fun new way! I decided to dye my under layer of hair blue! Thank to Garnier Color Styler, I was able to achieve a cute and fun look without causing damage to my hair.

The Garnier Color Styler goes on dry hair and is like a liquid chalk that outshines all other hair chalks on the market. It lasts two to three washes and does not come off on clothes which is wonderful for my super long hair. It also goes on vibrant over my dark brown hair which was unexpected.

I am super excited to use this blue dye in the fall for football season. I am looking forward to the days when I can yell GATA with all my heart to cheer on my team.

If you are thinking about trying Garnier Color Styler but don't want blue you can pick it up in Red, Pink, Bronze, and Purple as well. If you are still on the fence about trying it then download the coupon below to save on any one Color Styler! You have absolutely nothing to lose.

Spring Shoes - Slip-Ons

shoes

Teal // Polka Dot // Leopard // Sunflower // Floral // Striped

Lately I have become obsessed with slip on sneakers. I have worn them to class, to run errands, and even on dates with my lovely boyfriend recently. They are so versatile and comfy and keep me looking put together even when I am now. I have been dreaming about these sunflower slip-ons but now I am obsessed with all of the ones pictures. Thankfully I already own teal and leopard ones!

Beachy Hues

Oh March how I love you so! Though some days you may drop down in the 40's, the days you reach 85 bring happiness to my life. Living 45 minutes from the beach is turning out to be slightly more difficult than I thought it would be. The past week in my piece of the world, the temperature soared up the the 80's and my soul was aching for a beach trip. Alas, I loaded up in the car with my best friend and boyfriend and made the trip. It was so worth it to walk barefoot in the sand and wear shorts for the first time this year! Now that it is back in the 40's and 50's I am dreaming of my next beach day.

On this beach trip, I decided to wear my beautiful, new ring from Anjolee. By now you should know, I am a jewelry junkie and when Anjolee contacted me to review a product by them, I was delighted! At Anjolee, you can choose your ring or jewelry piece and have it customized in many different ways. Being more on the simple, minimalist side I chose this simple band that I can wear stacked with my other rings. However, there are so many styles to choose from!
